Sign in to your own eligible GitHub Copilot account. Inspect copilot mcp list first; add Monthly only if missing. Start Copilot, then run /mcp auth monthly inside the interactive session.
https://app.monthly.so/mcpCreate social posts with GitHub Copilot, review them in Monthly, and ask your agent to schedule. Your accounts. Your approval.
Which of my connected accounts are ready for my next post?
Your selected X account is ready.
Connect your social accounts in Monthly first. Then set up your agent for drafting and scheduling.
Sign in to your own eligible GitHub Copilot account. Inspect copilot mcp list first; add Monthly only if missing. Start Copilot, then run /mcp auth monthly inside the interactive session.
https://app.monthly.so/mcpUse your own Monthly account with an enabled social destination. Select accounts:read, posts:read, drafts:write and posts:schedule, then only the social accounts you intend to use. Monthly initially selects the read permissions; select both write permissions yourself for drafting and scheduling.
Send the read-only check below. Confirm the returned permissions include all four scopes and the returned accounts match your selection. A saved connector alone does not verify access.
copilot mcp add --transport http monthly https://app.monthly.so/mcp
copilot/mcp auth monthly{
"servers": {
"monthly": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://app.monthly.so/mcp"
}
}
}CLI and VS Code use different configuration formats. For VS Code, use MCP: Add Server → HTTP, choose your personal/global configuration, and follow trust and OAuth prompts. Enable Monthly’s read, draft, schedule and cancel tools in the intended chat. After reauthentication, restart Copilot CLI so it loads the new grant. If Copilot requests tool-catalog review, complete its normal review and retry; keep its instruction guard enabled. Repository-configured cloud agents and code review do not support this OAuth-protected remote setup.
Select only accounts:read and posts:read during Monthly consent and leave both write permissions off. For OpenClaw or Hermes, change oauth.scope to those two scopes before signing in. Expanding an existing read-only grant requires reauthentication; tool selection alone cannot expand access.
An actual Copilot CLI model conversation and native tool events verified text drafting, editing, human approval, future scheduling, retry recovery and cancellation. VS Code and GitHub cloud agents were not tested.
These October 28, 2026 checks used text posts that were scheduled for the future and cancelled before delivery. Public delivery, image upload and live token refresh were not tested. Each customer must verify their own connection.

Use Monthly to show my connection permissions, selected social accounts, supported formats and connection-created posts. Read only; do not create, upload, approve, schedule, cancel or publish anything.Use Monthly to prepare a draft for [social account] at [date, time and timezone]. Show me the exact copy, selected account, publication time, revision and Monthly review link. Wait for me to approve that exact revision inside Monthly before scheduling. Do not approve on my behalf.Give your agent the copy or brief, intended social account and an explicit future date, time and timezone. It saves a draft and returns a Monthly review link.
Open the review link. Check the copy, account, images and publication time. Click Approve revision for the exact version you want. Your agent cannot approve on your behalf; an edit clears approval.
Return to the same agent connection and ask it to schedule that approved revision. Check the actual queue status. Scheduled does not mean published; check delivery after the publication time.
Ask the same agent to cancel an undelivered post, or cancel it in Monthly. If a request times out, read the post status before retrying; reuse the same create retry key and exact revision.
Copy a prompt after connecting Monthly, then paste it into GitHub Copilot when you’re ready.

Keep the agent’s access easy to understand.
What is this Monthly connection allowed to do, and which accounts can it access? Read only; don’t request or change any permissions.
Yes. Connect your social accounts in Monthly, then sign in to your own Monthly account during your agent’s OAuth flow. Each customer gets their own scoped connection; you never use another customer’s login or social credentials.
Only the accounts you select during consent and the permissions you allow. Post reads are limited to posts created by that same connection. Your social access tokens and passwords stay in Monthly.
Every exact draft revision needs your approval inside Monthly before your agent can schedule it. Editing the copy, images, account or publication time clears approval. Read-only access cannot create or schedule posts.
Compatible MCP clients use OAuth sign-in and automatic client registration. You do not need to copy a Monthly API token or a shared client secret. Your agent’s account or subscription requirements are separate.
A client may need to renew authorization or reconnect an expired account. Use the normal sign-in flow and check the permissions again. Never disable authentication or share a social password with an agent.
Open Monthly Settings → AI agents & API and revoke that connection. Revocation stops further agent actions. It does not cancel posts already in your queue; review those separately.
