Use your own Monthly account. Keep accounts:read and posts:read selected; leave drafting/media and scheduling/cancellation off. Select only your intended accounts.

For read-only setup, also set Claude’s Write/delete tools to Blocked.

Detailed setup & compatibility notes
  1. 01

    Before you begin

Connect and enable your publishing account in Monthly first. On a managed Claude workspace, an owner may need to add or permit the connector.

  2. 02

    Open custom connectors

Open Customize → Connectors in Claude. Use Add connector → Add custom connector; check Yours first to avoid adding the same connection twice.

  3. 03

    Enter Monthly’s address

Name the connector Monthly and enter the HTTPS URL below. Choose Continue and wait for Claude to check the server and sign-in provider.

  4. 04

    Choose OAuth registration

Select Sign in now and Register automatically. Under Advanced, keep Streamable HTTP. This server uses DCR rather than Claude’s published identity documents.

  5. 05

    Choose read-only access in Monthly

Choose Add, then Connect. On Monthly’s consent page, keep only the two read permissions selected. Leave drafting/media and scheduling/cancellation off. Select only your intended account and choose Allow selected access.

  6. 06

    Restrict Claude’s tools

In the connected Monthly connector, set the Write/delete tools group to Blocked for this read-only setup. Keep the read-only tools on Needs approval. Monthly also enforces the selected OAuth permissions on its server.

  7. 07

    Verify in a conversation

Open a new chat and check Add files, connectors, and more → Connectors has Monthly enabled. Send the read-only check below. Use Allow once for the requested read tools and confirm the returned accounts match your selection.

A few good questions

Good to know before you connect.

Do I need a Monthly account?

Yes. Connect your social accounts in Monthly, then sign in to your own Monthly account during your agent’s OAuth flow. Each customer gets their own scoped connection; you never use another customer’s login or social credentials.

What can my agent see?

Only the accounts you select during consent and the permissions you allow. Post reads are limited to posts created by that same connection. Your social access tokens and passwords stay in Monthly.

Can it publish without my approval?

The read-only setup on this page cannot create or schedule posts. If you later grant drafting and scheduling permissions, every exact draft revision still needs your approval inside Monthly before it can be scheduled. Editing a draft clears its approval.

Do I need an API key?

Compatible MCP clients use OAuth sign-in and automatic client registration. You do not need to copy a Monthly API token or a shared client secret. Your agent’s account or subscription requirements are separate.

Why does the agent need me to sign in again?

A client may need to renew authorization or reconnect an expired account. Use the normal sign-in flow and check the permissions again. Never disable authentication or share a social password with an agent.

How do I disconnect an agent?

Open Monthly Settings → AI agents & API and revoke that connection. Revocation stops further agent actions. It does not cancel posts already in your queue; review those separately.
